Carlos Benito began his career in Medicine (MD, Valencia) and oriented his profile to Information Science activities in the biomedical field (Instituto López Piñero, Valencia) with special emphasis in bibliometrics. As an information specialist he also worked in the Food Science and Technology field (IATA, Valencia) and in 2008 joined INGENIO, a research institute focused in innovation and science policy studies. As many other bibliometricians he does not do bibliometrics; rather, he uses bibliometric and informetric tools to ascertain some aspects of science communication and scientific output of research groups, with especial interest in the translation of their results into societal outcomes.
