Carlos Ruiz Fresneda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Granada, specializing in Roads, Ports, and Canals. He also completed a Master’s in Secondary Education (Mathematics specialization) and a Master’s in Scientific Information and Communication. His main research interest lies in bibliometrics, particularly in altmetrics, which he explored in his Master’s thesis focused on the scientific output on COVID-19 indexed in Web of Science.

He has published bibliometric studies in JCR-indexed journals such as Frontiers in Public Health and Environmental Science and Pollution Research. Carlos collaborates regularly with the EC3metrics spin-off, contributing to the development of quality indicators for research assessment processes (e.g., sexenios) and the analysis of scientific output in WoS.
